Position Overview

I currently work on the Social Media team for WSU Athletics, which requires coverage for every WSU sport but football. Tasks include

  • Instagram story live video coverage and updates during game days and practices

  • Quick production and video editing on site

  • Strategic campaign planning for media days

  • TikTok and short reel video filming and production that interacts with fans, showcases players and engage audiences

  • Photography on game days

  • Copywriting for Instagram stories and feed posts

  • Editing final score graphics

Sports I’ve cover include Men’s Basketball and Women’s Soccer.

Started position in October 2024.

Instagram Stories

The primary job of the social media intern is to update and live post on the Instagram story of the chosen sport of the night. This allows creative freedom while fitting the brand’s voice and style. This involves quick video production and photo editing for the most current information on the story for fans and audiences. At the same time, photographing for half and final score graphics.
